How do I use Cohesity DataProtect with Wasabi?

Cohesity DataProtect can be used with Wasabi using the configuration details below for a Cohesity External Target.

Please Note: The data restoration process is handled by your specific backup software application. As there are many potential variables that will affect your unique environment, it is strongly recommended that you seek the guidance of your backup software's technical support team in the event that you encounter difficulty, or have application-specific inquiries.

1. Log in to your Cohesity system

2. Select Infrastructure -> External Targets on the left-hand side, then click "Register External Target"

3. Select "S3-Compatible" from the dropdown menu

4. Enter the following details, be sure to fill out the "New Target" name at the top.

  • Bucket Name
  • Access Key ID
  • Secret Access Key
  • Endpoint (This will very depending on your buckets chosen region)

Important: This example uses Wasabi's 'us-east-1' storage region. To use other Wasabi storage regions, please use the appropriate Wasabi service URL as described in this article.

5. You can leave the rest of the settings default, then hit the "Register" button.

6. You are now all set up to use Wasabi Hot Cloud Storage as an External Target on Cohesity
